Susie Lee Accepts Second General Election Debate Invitation, While April Becker Continues to Dodge Face to Face Debate

August 18, 2022

LAS VEGAS — Today, after weeks of silence from the April Becker campaign, Susie Lee for Congress announced that it accepted a second debate invitation ahead of November’s general election. These debates include:

  • KLAS-TV in Las Vegas — Date TBA by organizers
  • PBS/ KNPR — Date TBA by organizers

“I stand by my record in Congress. Each and every day, I have delivered results for hardworking families and seniors, and I stand ready and willing to discuss my record. Voters deserve nothing less from April Becker. Her continued silence proves that her previous enthusiasm to face me on the debate stage was a sham,” said Congresswoman Susie Lee. “Our right to choose, our democracy, and our way of life is on the line in November. Unless she’s afraid to face me and the people she wants to represent, Becker must come to the table and stand toe-to-toe with me on the issues. The voters deserve it.”

Over a week ago, Susie Lee for Congress accepted KLAS-TV’s invitation to debate. Becker has remained in hiding despite indicating on social media that she was willing to debate Congresswoman Lee following the Lee campaign’s call for debates in the race. Becker has failed to accept either invitation, which raises the question: does April Becker have the nerve to debate Susie Lee?
