Susie Lee for Congress Calls for Debates in Nevada’s Third Congressional District
July 13, 2022
LAS VEGAS — Today, Susie Lee for Congress called for multiple televised debates in Nevada’s Third Congressional District between Congresswoman Susie Lee and Republican candidate April Becker to highlight Becker’s wildly out of touch stances on issues facing southern Nevada.
The campaign’s proposal is as follows:
- At least two 60-minute televised debates should take place between Congresswoman Lee and April Becker between October 1 and October 22 after 5PM PT to reach voters at their highest level of engagement before early voting begins.
- At least one of the debates should be hosted or co-hosted by a Spanish language TV network.
- The debates should be moderated by qualified journalists.
“April Becker’s anti-choice views and far-right election conspiracy theories are unpopular with southern Nevadans, and voters deserve an explanation,” said Congresswoman Lee. “While April Becker proudly touts her endorsements from extreme groups that support a national abortion ban with no exceptions, I’m working every day to defend reproductive rights while advocating for real solutions to bring costs down for our families in Nevada. I’m looking forward to speaking to voters about my record of fighting for southern Nevadans and am confident that the contrast between me and my opponent will be clear on the debate stage.”
