Susie Lee Responds to Opponent April Becker’s Endorsement by Extreme Pro-Life Group, National Right to Life

LAS VEGAS — Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) released the following statement in response to her opponent April Becker’s endorsement by extreme pro-life group, National Right to Life:

“April Becker’s endorsement by National Right to Life is further proof that the right to choose in Nevada is on the line in November. Nevadans overwhelmingly support a woman’s right to choose. Meanwhile, April Becker is staunchly pro-life and is embracing an extremist group that wants to ban abortion nationwide. Becker is a threat to our fundamental freedoms.”

Congresswoman Lee has always been a staunch advocate of protecting abortion rights. Endorsed by Planned Parenthood Action Fund, she has been on the frontlines of the fight to ensure that women have access to the reproductive care they need. 

Becker is “proudly pro-life” and has openly stated she would vote for Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House, who recently came out in support of a nationwide abortion ban.

Nevada Right to Life, the Nevada affiliate of National Right to Life, applauded the fall of Roe as “a necessary step to allow the process of ridding our nation of abortion to advance.” Earlier this month, a National Right to Life official told POLITICO that a 10-year-old Ohio rape victim who traveled to Indiana to receive abortion care should have been forced to birth the baby, saying “as many women who have had babies as a result of rape, we would hope that she would understand the reason and ultimately the benefit of having a child.”
